लॉकडाउन के चलते सिर्फ उद्योगों पर ही नहीं, मंदिरों पर भी खासा आर्थिकसंकट है। तमिलनाडु के 8 हजारमंदिरों ने बिजली बिल माफ करने की मांग उठाई है। कर्नाटक में 35 हजार से ज्यादा मंदिरों के अर्चक, सेवक और पुजारियों ने आर्थिक सहायता के लिए कोर्ट की शरण ली है। हाल ही में, कर्नाटक हाइकोर्ट में एक जनहित याचिका दायर की गई है, जिसमें कर्नाटक के छोटे और मध्यम मंदिर (जो सी श्रेणी में आते हैं) के सेवकों और अर्चकों को आर्थिक सहायता देने की मांग की गई है।
याचिका में कहा गया है कि कर्नाटक सरकार के अधीन आने वाले इन मंदिरों के पुजारी, सेवकों और अर्चकों को कुछ आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान करनी चाहिए। कर्नाटक में कुल 50 हजार से ज्यादा मंदिर हैं। जिनमें से लगभग 35 हजार 500 मंदिर छोटे या "सी" श्रेणी के मंदिरों में आते हैं। इन मंदिरों की मुख्य आमदानी दान-दक्षिणा ही होती है। लेकिन, नेशनल लॉकडाउन के चलते दो महीने से सारी आय बंद है। मंदिर के सेवकों और अर्चकों को मंदिर की गतिविधियां संचालित करने, दैनिक खर्चों और खुद का जीवनयापन करने में भी परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।
कर्नाटक हाईकोर्ट की खंडपीठ, जिस में चीफ जस्टिसअभय श्रीनिवास ओका और जस्टिसके.एन. फणीन्द्र ने वकील श्रीहरि कुटसा और बेंगलुरुके एक मंदिर के अर्चक के.एस.एन. दीक्षित की याचिका को स्वीकार किया है। न्यायालय इस मामले में 27 मई को सुनवाई कर सकता है। कर्नाटक सरकार को भी इस मामले में कोर्ट की तरफ से नोटिस दे दिया गया है।

• सालभर का खर्च मात्र 48 हजार

कर्नाटक में सी श्रेणी में आने वाले मंदिरों को सालभर का खर्च महज 48 हजार रुपए दिया जाता है। इसमें से ही उन्हें मंदिर के रोज के खर्च, मैंटनेंस, अर्चकों-सेवकों की तनख्वाह आदि खर्चों की पूर्ति करनी होती है। ये मंदिर अपने खर्चों की पूर्ति आमतौर पर दान राशि से ही करते हैं। कर्नाटक हिंदू धार्मिक संस्थान और धर्मार्थ बंदोबस्ती विभाग (KHRICE) के पास मंदिरों के लिए करीब 300 करोड़ से ज्यादा का बजट है लेकिन ये ज्यादातर बढ़े मंदिरों पर खर्च हो जाता है। छोटे मंदिरों को कुछ मिल नहीं पाता। जबकि, राज्य में छोटे मंदिरों की संख्या ही सबसे ज्यादा है।

 Due to the lockdown, there is a lot of economic crisis not only on industries but also on temples.  8 thousand temples of Tamil Nadu have raised the demand for waiving the electricity bill.  The priests, servants and priests of more than 35 thousand temples in Karnataka have taken court for financial assistance.  Recently, a Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Karnataka High Court seeking financial assistance to the servants and archers of small and medium temples (which fall in the C category) of Karnataka.

 The petition states that priests, servants and archaks of these temples, which come under the Government of Karnataka, should provide some financial support.  There are more than 50 thousand temples in Karnataka.  Out of which around 35 thousand 500 temples fall in small or "C" category temples.  The main income of these temples is donation-dakshina.  But, due to the national lockdown, all income has been closed for two months.  The temple servants and archaks are also facing difficulties in conducting temple activities, daily expenses and living themselves.

 Bench of Karnataka High Court, in which Chief Justice Abhay Srinivas Oka and Justice K.N.  Phanindra advocated Shrihari Kutsa and the architect of a temple in Bangalore, KSN.  Dixit's petition is accepted.  The court may hear the matter on 27 May.  The Karnataka government has also been given notice on behalf of the court in this matter.

 The expenditure for the year is only 48 thousand

 In Karnataka, the cost of a year is given to temples falling in the C category for just 48 thousand rupees.  From this, they have to meet the daily expenses of the temple, maintenance, salary of the archers and servants, etc.  These temples usually meet their expenses by donating money only.  Karnataka Hindu Religious Institution and Charitable Endowment Department (KHRICE) has a budget of more than 300 crores for temples but it mostly gets spent on enlarged temples.  Small temples do not get anything.  However, the state has the largest number of small temples.
