कोरोनावायरस गर्भनाल के साथ कोख कोजख्मी कर सकता है और ब्लड की सप्लाई को बाधित कर कोख में पल रहे भ्रूण के लिए खतरा बढ़ा सकता है। यह दावा अमेरिका कीनॉर्थवेस्टर्न यूनिवर्सिटी के शोधकर्ताओं ने किया है।
शोधकर्ताओं का कहना है कि अगर कोरोना का संक्रमण गर्भनाल में तक पहुंचता है तो प्री-मैच्योर डिलीवरी हो सकती है, भ्रूण केअंग नष्टहो सकते हैं और कोख में ही मौत होने का भी खतरा है।
6 फीसदी संक्रमित महिलाओं को गर्भपात का खतरा
शोधकर्ताओं ने यह रिसर्च 16 महिलाओं पर की है, उनमें से 15 गर्भवतियों ने स्वस्थ बच्चों को जन्म दिया। शोधकर्ताओं कहना है कि गर्भवती महिलाओं को काफी देखरेख की जरूरत है। संक्रमण होने पर 6 फीसदी महिलाओं को गर्भपात का भी खतरा है। यह खतरा दूसरी तिमाही में होने वाले औसतन गर्भपात से एक फीसदी ज्यादा है।

शोधकर्ता के मुताबिक, 12 गर्भवती महिलाओं की गर्भनाल में अलग तरह का जख्म देखा गया जो मां से बच्चे तक पहुंचने वाले रक्त के संचार को बाधित करता है। 16 में 6 महिलाओं के गर्भनाल में रक्त के थक्के देखे गए। शोधकर्ता और स्त्री रोग विशेषज्ञ डॉ. एमिले मिलर का कहना है, हम लोगों को डराना नहीं चाहते हैं लेकिन यह परेशानी वाली बात है।

पिछली रिसर्च में सामने आया था कि वो बच्चे जो 1918-19 की फ्लू महामारी में पैदा हुए उनमें हृदय रोगों का खतरा अधिक देखा गया था। शोधकर्ता डॉ. गोल्डस्टीन का कहना है कि रिसर्च से अलग कोरोना के दूसरे 4 मामलों में गर्भपात हुआ है। इनमें तीन में कोरोना का सामान्य संक्रमण था और 1 की हालत नाजुक थी।
