मानव जाति के इतिहास में पहली बार प्रकृति मां ने पूरी दुनिया को अपने हाथों में ले लिया है। पूरी धरती एक समय में एक ही कोरोना वायरस से लड़ रही है। मेरे सभी विश्लेषण, सभी विचार इसी पर आधारित हैं कि प्रकृति के तर्क और नियमों के तंत्र को ध्यान में रखते हुए इस महामारी का सामना कैसे करें।
अगर आप ऐसा करने की जगह अपना विश्लेषण राजनीति या विचारधारा या इस सोच के साथ शुरू करते हैं कि बहुत हुआ लॉकडाउन, भाड़ में जाए वायरस, तो आप वास्तव में प्रकृति मां को द्वंद्वयुद्ध की चुनौती दे रहे हैं। मैं समझ सकता हूं कि लोग अपना बिजनेस बचाने, वेतन पाने के लिए बेताब हैं। लेकिन, अगर मास्क पहनने, धार्मिक आयोजनों के लिए भीड़ पर रोक को प्रकृति के सम्मान की जगह अपनी निजी स्वतंत्रता का अपमान मानते हैं तो आप एक बड़ी गलती कर रहे हैं।
हम याद रखें कि प्रकृति सिर्फ रसायन, जीव व भौतिक विज्ञान है और जो इसे चलाता है वह है प्राकृतिक चुनाव। हर जीव की यही तलाश है। किसी पारिस्थितिक पनाह में खुद को बचाए रखना, फलना-फूलना और अपना डीएनए अगली पीढ़ी को देने के लिए संघर्ष करना ताकि वे उन जैसे न हो जाएं, जिन्हें बनाने वाले के पास वापस भेज दिया गया और फिर वे लौटे नहीं। और वायरस भी यही करते हैं। वे बचे रहने की कोशिश करते हैं। उदाहरण के लिए कोरोना चमगादड़ के साथ रहा। फिर उसे इंसान में पनाह मिल गई और वह ऐसे नुकसान पहुंचाने लगा, जिससे हमारी जान जा सकती है।
जब यह हुआ तो कोरोना प्रकृति मां का एक और जरिया बन गया, यह देखने के लिए कि हममें से कौन ज्यादा तंदुरुस्त है। प्रकृति मां निर्मम भी है। वह उस ईश्वर की तरह नहीं है, जिसकी इंसान पूजा करते हैं। प्रकृति हिसाब नहीं रखती। वह सोमवार को आपकी दादी को वायरस दे सकती है, बुधवार को तूफान में आपका घर उड़ा सकती है और शुक्रवार को तहखाने में पानी भर सकती है।
इसलिए वह आपकी इस बात पर ध्यान नहीं देती कि आप लॉकडाउन से पक चुके हैं। उसे सिर्फ ‘अनुकूलन’ से फर्क पड़ता है। वह अमीर, गरीब, होशियार नहीं देखती। वह सिर्फ सबसे अनुकूल को ही इनाम देती है, सिर्फ उसे जो उसकी शक्ति का सम्मान करता है। अगर आप उसके वायरसों, जंगल में आग, सूखा, तूफान, बाढ़ आदि का सम्मान नहीं करेंगे तो वो नागरिकों को नुकसान पहुंचाएगी।
अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ट्रम्प प्रकृति मां का सम्मान नहीं करते, क्योंकि वे हर चीज को बाजार के पैमाने पर नापते हैं। प्रकृति मां उन्हीं नेताओं को इनाम देती है, जिनकी अनुकूल प्रतिक्रिया सबसे ज्यादा सोची-समझी गई और सामंजस्यपूर्ण होती है। वह वायरसों को ऐसे विकसित करती है कि वे निजी या सामुदायिक प्रतिरोधी तंत्र में कमजोरी ढूंढ लेते हैं।
इसलिए अगर आपका परिवार या समुदाय उसके वायरस पर मिलकर प्रतिक्रिया नहीं देंगे, तो गुंजाइश मिलने पर भी वे फैल जाएंगे और उसकी कीमत चुकानी पड़ेगी। जैसा पहले बताया गया है कि प्रकृति रसायन, जीव और भौतिक विज्ञान से बनी है, इसलिए यह इन पर आधारित अनुकूलन को ही इनाम देती है। अगर आपके अनुकूलन की रणनीति विचारधारा या चुनावी साल की राजनीति पर आधारित है, तो यह पूरी निर्ममता से आपका खुलासा कर देगी।
यह सही है कि कोरोना अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों और आबादियों पर अलग तरह से हमला करता है। मिनेसोटा विश्वविद्यालय के एपीडेमिओलॉजिस्ट माइकल ओस्टरहोम ने हाल ही में यूएसए टुडे को बताया- ‘यह वायरस तब तक रहेगा, जब तक हर व्यक्ति को संक्रमित नहीं कर देता या जब तक वैक्सीन या हर्ड इम्युनिटी नहीं मिल जाती’। जन स्वास्थ्य विशेषज्ञ डॉ. डेविड कैट्ज़ ने संकट की शुरुआत में ही कहा था कि हमें कुल नुकसान को न्यूनतम रखने के लिए टिकाऊ रणनीति की जरूरत होगी। यानी ऐसी रणनीति जो अधिकतम जिंदगियां और जीविकाएं बचाए।
हम अभी भी अपनी आबादी के अलग-अलग लोगों के अलग-अलग जोखिम स्तरों को पहचानकर सबसे असुरक्षित को बचाने और जिन्हें जोखिम कम है, उन्हें काम पर लौटने देने की रणनीतियां बना सकते हैं। यानी क्या खोलना है और क्या बंद रखना है, इसके बीच सर्वश्रेष्ठ सामंजस्य बैठाना होगा। यह कहना बहुत जल्दबाजी नहीं है कि चीन, जर्मनी, साउथ कोरिया और स्वीडन समेत कई देश जो खुल रहे हैं, वे प्रकृति मां का सम्मान करते हुए, सामंजस्य और विज्ञान को आधार बनाकर खुल रहे हैं।
इनके विपरीत अमेरिका की हालत खराब है। कुछ जगह रेस्त्रां में भीड़ या जिम के लिए प्रदर्शन करते लोग दिख रहे हैं, जिनकी तख्तियों पर लिखा है- ‘मेरी आजादी वहां खत्म नहीं होती, जहां तुम्हारा डर शुरू होता है’। ये तख्तियां लिए लोग और कुछ न्यूज चैनल्स पर इनका उत्साह बढ़ाते मूर्खों को समझ नहीं आ रहा कि हम एक-दूसरे के खिलाफ नहीं खड़े, प्रकृति मां के सामने खड़े हैं। हमें चीजें फिर शुरू करने और अनुकूल बनाने की जरूरत है पर प्रकृति के तर्क का सम्मान करते हुए। उन तरीकों से नहीं जो दूसरी लहर लेकर आएं, जो प्रकृति मां को युद्ध के लिए चुनौती दें। यह समझदारी नहीं है, क्योंकि पिछले 450 करोड़ सालों में प्रकृति मां एक भी युद्ध नहीं हारी है।

 For the first time in the history of mankind, Mother Nature has taken the whole world into her own hands.  The whole earth is fighting the same corona virus at a time.  All my analysis, all ideas are based on how to cope with this epidemic keeping in mind the logic of nature and the mechanism of rules.

 If instead of doing this you start your analysis with politics or ideology or thinking that enough lockdown, hell to go virus, then you are really challenging the mother of nature to duel.  I can understand that people are desperate to save their business, get salary.  But, if you consider wearing masks, banning crowds for religious events, as an insult to your personal freedom rather than respecting nature, then you are making a big mistake.

 Let us remember that nature is just chemistry, biology and physics and what drives it is natural choice.  This is the quest of every living being.  Struggling to protect, thrive and give your DNA to the next generation in an ecological shelter so that they do not resemble those who were sent back to the Creator and did not return.  And viruses do the same.  They try to survive.  For example Corona stayed with bats.  Then he found refuge in humans and started doing such harm, which can kill us.

 When this happened, Corona became another source of Mother Nature to see which of us is healthier.  Mother Nature is also ruthless.  He is not like the God whom humans worship.  Nature does not keep track.  She can give the virus to your grandmother on Monday, blow up your house in a storm on Wednesday, and fill water in the basement on Friday.

 So she does not care that you are caught by lockdown.  He only makes a difference with 'adaptation'.  She does not look rich, poor, clever.  She rewards only the most favorable, only the one who honors her power.  If you do not respect her viruses, forest fire, drought, storm, flood, etc., then she will harm the citizens.

 US President Trump does not respect the mother of nature, as they measure everything on the scale of the market.  Mother Nature rewards those leaders whose most favorable response is thoughtful and harmonious.  It develops viruses in such a way that they find weakness in private or community resistant systems.

 So if your family or community will not react together to its virus, they will spread even if there is scope and it will have to pay the price.  As stated earlier, nature is made up of chemistry, biology and physics, so it rewards adaptation based on these.  If your adaptation strategy is based on ideology or the politics of the election year, then it will be open to you with complete ruthlessness.

 It is true that Corona attacks different regions and populations differently.  Epidemiologist Michael Osterholm of the University of Minnesota recently told USA Today - "The virus will persist until it infects everyone or until a vaccine or herd immunity is found".  Public health expert Dr. David Katz said at the beginning of the crisis that we would need a sustainable strategy to keep the total loss to a minimum.  That is, a strategy that saves maximum lives and livelihoods.

 We can still devise strategies to protect the most vulnerable and allow those who are at risk to return to work by recognizing different risk levels of different people in our population.  That is, the best harm has to be done between what is to be opened and what is to be closed.  It is not too early to say that many countries that are opening up, including China, Germany, South Korea and Sweden, are opening up on the basis of harmony and science, respecting the mother of nature.

 Unlike them, the condition of America is bad.  At some places, there are crowds in the restaurant or people performing for the gym, whose placards read - 'My freedom does not end where your fear begins'.  People carrying these placards and fooling people on some news channels do not understand that we are not standing against each other, standing in front of Mother Nature.  We need to restart and adapt things, but respecting the logic of nature.  Not in ways that bring a second wave, which challenges Mother Nature to battle.  This is not sensible, because in the last 450 crore years, Mother Nature has not lost a single war.
