ईद रोजे पूरे होने के जश्न का दिन है। 30 दिन तक रोजेदार पूरे इमान से रोजे के कायदों को जीता है, 31वें दिन अल्लाह को रोजे पूरे होने का शुक्रिया करने के लिए ईद पर मुंह मीठा करता है। लेकिन, इस्लाम को ना जानने वाले या कम जानने वालों के मन में कई तरह के सवाल होते हैं। रमजान का महीना ही क्यों चुना गया रोजे के लिए, 30 दिन ही रोजे क्यों रखे जाते हैं, क्या रमजान के महीने का कुरान लिखे जाने से कोई संबंध है?
ऐसे ही कुछ सवालों के जवाब के लिए हमने अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रोफेसर प्रो. आफताब आलम, जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया के इस्लामिक स्टडीज के प्रो. जुनैद हारिस, जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया के उर्दू विभाग के हेड डॉ. शहजाद अंजुम, मुस्लिम मामलों के जानकार डॉ. महमूम हुसैन आदि से चर्चा की।

• रमजान के महीने में ही रोजे क्यों?
  

रमजान हिजरी वर्ष का नौवां महीना है। इस्लाम में इसकी सबसे ज्यादा मान्यता इसलिए है क्योंकि रमजान के महीने में पैगंबर मोहम्मद सा. को कुरान की आयतें उतरना शुरू हुईं। रोजे की परंपरा पैगंबर साहब के पहले भी मानी गई है। खुद पैगंबर साहब ने भी रोजे रखे। लेकिन, तब ये फर्ज (अनिवार्य) नहीं थी। जब पैगंबर साहब मक्का से मदीना आए। तब उन्होंने इसे हर इस्लाम मानने वाले के लिए इसे फर्ज किया। ये भी माना जाता है कि उन्होंने ही रोजे के साथ कुछ नए नियम जोड़े, जिसमें जकात (दान) सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है। तब से रमजान के पूरे महीने रोजे रखना हर इस्लाम मानने वाले के लिए जरूरी हो गया।

• 30 दिन ही रोजे क्यों?

रमजान के महीने में 30 दिन रोजे रखना ये कुरान शरीफ की भी हिदायत है। पैगंबर साहब का कहना था कि साल के 12 में से 11 महीने हम दुनियादारी में जीते हैं। खुद की बेहतरी के लिए समय नहीं निकालते। रमजान के पूरे महीने (30 रोजे) इसके लिए फर्ज किए गए हैं। खुद को बेहतर बनाने, दुनियादारी से अलग खुद को नेकी की राह पर चलाने और लोगों की मदद करने के लिए इस एक महीने को चुना गया है। इसमें अपनी आमदानी का ढाई फीसदी जकात (दान) करने का कायदा बनाया गया है। रोजा सिर्फ खाने से दूर रहने का नहीं है, बल्कि सोच, कर्म और हर तरह से अपनी शुद्धता के लिए है।

मदीना जहां कुरान शरीफ को अंतिम रूप दिया गया था। यहीं पर पैगंबर साहब ने 10 साल गुजारे थे। इस्लाम में मक्का-मदीना की यात्रा ही सबसे बड़ी यात्रा मानी जाती है।

• सेहरी और इफ्तारी क्यों होती है? इसका मतलब क्या?
  

रोजा सूरज उगने के सवा घंटे पहले से शुरू होता है। सूरज ढलने के साथ खत्म होता है। सूरज उगने से पहले और सूरज ढलने के बाद ही कुछ खा सकते हैं या पी सकते हैं। सूरज उगने से पहले अल-सुबह जो खाया जाता है, उसे सेहरी कहा जाता है। शाम को सूर्यास्त के बाद रोजा खोला जाता है। इसे इफ्तारी यानी रोजा पूरा होने की रस्म कहा जाता है। आमतौर पर रोजा खजूर खाकर ही तोड़ा जाता है। सेहरी और इफ्तारी के बीच ना पानी पिया जाता है, ना कुछ खाया जाता है। ये कड़ा नियम खुद को नेकी की राह पर चलाने और नेक कामों के लिए तैयार रहने की एक सीख (ट्रैनिंग) के जैसा है।

• क्या रमजान का कुरान लिखे जाने से कोई संबंध है?

हां, रमजान के महीने में ही कुरान की आयतें पैगंबर साहब को नाजीर (मिली) हुई थीं। हालांकि, पूरे रमजान के महीने में ऐसा नहीं हुआ था। रमजान के आखिरी दस दिनों की खास तारीखों को कुरान की आयतें उतरी थीं। ये तारीखें 21, 23, 25, 27 और 29 तारीखें थी। इस लिहाज से ही रमजान को इस्लाम में सबसे पवित्र महीना माना गया है। कुरान को पूरा होने में 23 साल का समय लगा था। इन 23 सालों में 13 साल पैगंबर मोहम्मद सा. मक्का और 10 साल मदीना में रहे थे। इन 23 सालों में कुरान की सारी आयतें उतरीं। इसकी शुरुआत तब हुई जब पैगंबर सा. खुद 40 साल के थे। उन्होंने खुद को इसी उम्र में पैगंबर (अल्लाह का संदेशवाहक) घोषित किया था। ये घटना मक्का में हुई थी। इसके 13 साल बाद वे मदीना आ गए थे।

पवित्र मक्का, जो पैगंबर मोहम्मद साहब का जन्म स्थान भी माना जाता है। यहीं पर उन्होंने खुद को नबी घोषित किया था।

• इसे मीठी ईद क्यों बोलते हैं और यह बकरीद से अलग क्यों होतीहै?
  

30 दिन के रोजे पूरे होने की खुशी में ईद मनाई जाती है। ये वो उत्सव है, जिसमें रोजे रखने वाला अल्लाह को शुक्रिया अदा करता है। अपने रोजे पूरे होने की खुशी में मीठा खाता है। इस्लामिक साहित्य के शोधकर्ता ये भी मानते हैं कि खुद पैगंबर मोहम्मद सा. भी रोजे खत्म होने के बाद नमाज के लिए जाने से पहले खजूर खाकर अपना मुंह मीठा करते थे, फिर नमाज के लिए जाते थे। यहीं से इसका नाम मीठी ईद पड़ गया। बकरीद, मीठी ईद के 70 दिन बाद आती है। ये कुर्बानी का त्योहार है। इसके पीछे एक अलग कहानी है।
बकरीद की शुरुआत इस्लाम के एक और पैगंबर हजरत इब्राहिम से हुई। ऐसी मान्यता है कि हजरत इब्राहिम को सपने में अल्लाह ने उससे सबसे प्रिय चीज की कुर्बानी देने के लिए कहा तो उन्होंने अपने बेटे की ही बलि देने का फैसला किया। ऐसा करते हुए कहीं उनके हाथ रुक न जाएं, इसलिए उन्‍होंने अपने आंखों पर पट्टी बांध ली। बलि देने के बाद जब उन्‍होंने पट्टी खोली तो देखा कि उनका बेटा तो उनके सामने जिंदा खड़ा था और जिस की बलि दी गई थी वो बकरी, मेमना, भेड़ की तरह दिखने वाला जानवर था। इसी दिन से इसे त्‍योहार के रूप में मनाया जाने लगा और इसका नाम बकरीद पड़ गया।

 Why fasting in the month of Ramadan?

 Ramadan is the ninth month of the Hijri year.  Its highest recognition in Islam is because in the month of Ramadan, Prophet Mohammad Sa.  The verses of the Quran began to descend.  The tradition of Roja is considered to have preceded the Prophet.  The Prophet himself also kept fasting.  But, it was not obligatory then.  When the Prophet Sahab came to Madina from Mecca.  Then they forgave it for every believer.  It is also believed that he added some new rules with Roje, in which zakat (donation) is the most important.  Since then it has become necessary for every believer to observe fast for the whole month of Ramadan.

 Why fast for 30 days?

 It is also the instruction of Quran Sharif to keep 30 days fast in the month of Ramadan.  The Prophet said that we live 11 months out of the 12 years of the world.  Do not take time for your own betterment.  The whole month of Ramadan (30 roses) is forbidden for this.  This one month has been chosen to better ourselves, separate ourselves from worldliness and help people on the path of righteousness.  In this, the law has been made to donate two and a half percent of its income to zakat (donation).  Rosa is not just to stay away from food, but for thinking, action and purity in every way.

 Amdina where Quran Sharif was finalized.  It was here that the Prophet Sahab spent 10 years.  The journey of Mecca and Medina is considered to be the biggest journey in Islam.

 Why are sehri and iftari?  What does this mean?

 Rosa begins a quarter and a half before the sun rises.  It ends with the sun sets.  One can eat or drink before the sun rises and only after the sun sets.  What is eaten before al-dawn before the sun rises is called sehri.  Rosa is opened in the evening after sunset.  This is called the Iftari, or Rosa completion ceremony.  Usually the Rosa is broken by eating dates.  Neither water is drunk nor anything is eaten between Sehri and Iftari.  These strict rules are like training themselves to follow the path of righteousness and to be ready for good works.

 Is Ramadan related to writing Quran?

 Yes, it was in the month of Ramadan that the verses of the Quran were conferred on the Prophet.  However, this did not happen during the entire Ramadan month.  Quranic verses were descended on specific dates of the last ten days of Ramadan.  These dates were 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29.  From this perspective, Ramadan is considered the holiest month in Islam.  The Quran took 23 years to complete.  In these 23 years, the Prophet Mohammad sa 13 years.  Mecca and had lived in Medina for 10 years.  In these 23 years all the verses of the Quran descended.  It started when Prophet Sa.  He himself was 40 years old.  He proclaimed himself Prophet (Messenger of Allah) at this age.  This incident took place in Mecca.  After 13 years, he came to Madina.

 Holy holy Mecca, which is also considered to be the birthplace of Prophet Mohammad.  It was here that he declared himself a prophet.

 Why is it called sweet Eid and why is it different from Bakrid?

 Eid is celebrated in the joy of completing 30 days fast.  This is the festival in which the one who keeps fast, thanks Allah.  Eats sweet in the joy of completing his fast.  Researchers in Islamic literature also believe that Prophet Mohammad Sa. himself.  Even after the end of fasting, they used to sweeten their mouth by eating dates before going for namaz, then used to go for namaz.  From here, its name became sweet Eid.  Bakrid comes after 70 days of sweet Eid.  It is a festival of sacrifice.  There is a different story behind this.

 Bakrid started with Hazrat Ibrahim, another Prophet of Islam.  It is believed that in the dream to Allah Hazrat Ibrahim Allah asked him to sacrifice the most loved thing, then he decided to sacrifice his son.  While doing this, his hands should not stop, so he tied his blindfold.  When he opened the bandage after sacrificing, he saw that his son was standing alive in front of him and the one who was sacrificed was a goat, lamb, sheep looking animal.  From this day itself, it was celebrated as a festival and its name was Bakrid.
